Based in New Jersey, Robert M. Ryerson has more than three decades of experience in the financial industry. After deciding to make a career change in 1983, he underwent training to become a stockbroker and completed his Series 7 exam before participating in an additional training course at Shearson Lehman American Express in New York. Ryerson spent the next several years honing his skills while working for that major financial services firm. He ultimately decided to upgrade his professional focus, opting to pursue a career as a financial planner to better serve the interests of his clients. He became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 1991.
Two years later, Ryerson became a fully independent financial planner. In this role, he has worked with clients to address their financial planning needs ever since. As a CFP at New Century Planning, he works in concert with a team of professionals who lend their expertise in estate planning, accounting, taxation, mortgage banking, and other specialized areas. Over the years, Ryerson has cultivated his own skills in legacy planning and estate administration.
Throughout his career, Robert Ryerson has dedicated much of his time to educating the public about financial topics. He has hosted online continuing education courses for Certified Public Accountants and frequently speaks to audiences on topics related to retirement planning. In addition, he co-authored the 2013 publication What You Don’t Know About Retirement Will Hurt You.
More recently, Robert M. Ryerson has become an expert in the field of identity theft. In 2014, he earned his Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist (CITRMS) designation and published the book What’s the Deal with Identity Theft in 2016. He shares his knowledge at local community colleges by teaching classes on the subject.
